The Wild Road is Sagnlandet Lejre’s newest addition – a 330-meter-long walkway that winds up to 8 meters high between treetops, moraine hills and across Sagnlandet’s animal enclosures.
On The Wild Road you can enjoy a view that must be among the most beautiful in Denmark! The Wild Road is open to everyone, all opening days, during the entire opening hours of Sagnlandet Lejre.
The Wild Road is stroller and wheelchair friendly
The Wild Road is made so that it has no slope exceeding 6 degrees.
This means that it is built so that wheelchairs, strollers, pushchairs and the like can easily drive on it. At the same time, The Wild Road – in addition to the experience it is in itself – makes it easier for you to get out and experience the 19th-century area of Sagnlandet Lejre, which is now more accessible, even if you are among those who do not have such an easy time with gravel roads and slopes.
The Wild Road is the first part of the project Dyrenes Sagnland, which is financed with a donation of a total of 52.3 million by the Annie & Otto Johs. Detlefs’ Foundation, which was founded by the married couple Annie and the now deceased Otto Johs., and which has provided indispensable support to Danish cultural life for over 20 years.
