EVENTS FOR MEMBERS

The world’s first pandemic – Thursday, April 4, 16:00-18:00

Meet Kristian Kristiansen, Professor of Archaeology, University of Gothenburg, who together with DNA researcher Eske Willerslev studies migrations and the spread of disease. Their findings are turning the map of the world and Denmark upside down. Come and learn more about how plague and migrating steppe nomads in the Neolithic period are linked to Danish DNA and the spread of sclerosis in Europe today.

A life in the middle of government – experiences as a member of parliament and minister – Tuesday, June 4, 16:00-18:00(note day of the week).

Meet MP Mogens Jensen, Vice Chairman of the Social Democratic Party and former Minister for Trade and Development and for Food, Fisheries and Equality. Through almost 20 years in parliament, Mogens Jensen has held many different committee posts, rapporteurships and positions of trust both inside and outside “Borgen”. Come and gain insight into both life as a politician and the Danish People’s Government up close.

The director invites you to a “walk & talk” to the new building in the Land of Legends – Thursday, September 12 at 16.00-18.00

In 2024, new construction has started in several places in Lejre Land of Legends thanks to a generous million investment from Annie and Otto Johs. Detlefs Fonde. Several local contractors are helping to turn the visions of Lejre Land of Legends into reality. On the tour, we’ll see how the various projects are progressing and get an insight into the beautiful and exciting facilities that lie ahead.

The King of Lejre hosts a New Year’s Eve party in Kongehallen – Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 16.00-18.30.

As a new offer for members of Lejre Land of Legends Business Club, we will mark the past season and the new one that is just around the corner with a special New Year’s treat in Kongehallen. This is around the time when, according to written sources, the King of Lejre held great feasts and “sacrificed 99 people and as many horses to their gods, as well as dogs and roosters, which are praised to hawks, …”. It doesn’t get quite that dramatic (thankfully). But one thing is certain. The king will be happy to talk about the celebration of Christmas and other traditions of his time.
