A trip to Lejre Land of Legends is like a walk in the woods
Lejre Land of Legends covers a large, beautiful natural area of 43 hectares.
From the entrance, it’s 300 meters to Kongehallen. It’s a solid gravel road all the way.
Along the roads and paths to Kongehallen, De Historiske Værksteder, Båldalen and Cafe Hvidesøhus, there are benches in several places so you can take a rest on the way.

Further out in the landscape
Here nature unfolds from its most beautiful side, with soft hills and small paths.
In the outer corners of Lejre Land of Legends, there are several places where a wheelchair or pram cannot reach.
On the map at the bottom of this page we have marked two routes.
The Blue route is suitable for prams and wheelchairs, and the Yellow route is not suitable for wheeled vehicles.
Disabled toilets, ramps and chutes
There are disabled toilets in Lejre Land of Legends both in the Welcome Center and at Cafe Hvidesøhus.
In the Iron Age Village and the Historical Workshops, some of our doorsteps are high – but both places have chutes so everyone can get inside.
Ask for a hand from the Iron Age people or the historic craftsmen – they are ready to help.
In Kongehallen, all doorsteps are under 1.5 cm and accessible for most types of wheelchairs, strollers and prams. If you have any problems, just ask one of the Vikings and they will find a ramp for you.

Blue Route
The Blue Route is the most handicap- and stroller-friendly route. The route is 1 km.
The Blue Route is usually passable by most manual wheelchairs and prams, depending on the physical condition of the user and caregivers.
Experience shows that some stretches can be difficult for electric wheelchairs to pass.
Yellow route
The Yellow Route is not suitable for wheelchairs or prams. There are not benches everywhere along the route. The route is 3 km.
Weather and wind also determine how easy the route is, which can change from day to day. You can also check the area map below before your visit.

Where to park
________________________
Parking in Lejre Land of Legends is free. We have 3 parking lots with over 300 spaces in total.
The third parking lot is hidden behind the largest gravel parking lot we have, so if it looks like it’s full, brace yourself: there’s another parking lot behind it.
Disabled attendant
________________________
Free of charge
A disabled companion enters Land of Legends on the same ticket as the person with a disability. You only need to buy a single admission ticket for both of you. You are required to present a valid companion card at the entrance.
