The road to the Iron Age village of Lethra winds between gentle hills and on both sides of the path the village sheep are munching on the wild grass.
Open the wooden gate with the carved animal heads and walk inside the village fence where the thatched houses cosy up together.
Follow the stone paving to the entrance, bow your head and enter the low door. Let your eyes adjust to the darkness and smell the faint scent of the fireplace. Sit on the sheepskins in bed and imagine a world where the clay walls would be the frame of your home.
Let the children explore village life and play in the grass.
Take a peek inside the forge, which, just like in the Iron Age, is on the other side of the village fence. Secluded so that a fire started by the large sparks that fly from the iron when the blacksmith is working doesn’t spread to the other houses.
