Loan of Lejre Land of Legends costumes

In the past, many of you have benefited from borrowing Lejre Land of Legends’ costumes and equipment. Unfortunately, like so many others in these times, we have to be aware of the use of our resources and are therefore unable to lend out suits and equipment to the same extent as before.

Changes in arrival and departure days

Arrival: It is possible to arrive during the times indicated in the form: Friday, July 5 between 17:00-20:00; Saturday, July 6 between 17:00-20:00 or Sunday, July 7 between 17:00-21:00. It is only possible to get permission to drive inside Lejre Land of Legends after 17:00 when Lejre Land of Legends is closed. Likewise, you can only be assigned a space after 17:00.

Departure: Please state in the form which date you plan to leave Lejre Land of Legends. As Lejre Land of Legends is open for guests from 10:00 to 17:00, we recommend that you leave either before opening or after closing.

What do we expect from you as a traveling Viking?

The market and Thing Week are a shared experience for everyone.

In 2024, we have a special focus on having different kinds of interpreters on site. Therefore, we would appreciate it if you can tell us in your application what you intend to teach or what crafts you will bring with you.

In general, we expect:

• Good communication and involvement of the audience, friendliness and willingness to engage in conversation
• that the craftsman is committed to his work and that the work stays within the Viking Age, as do the materials and tools
• the warrior has a broad understanding of Viking Age warfare and combat and that all equipment is in keeping with the period. Participation in weapon presentation is appreciated if you do not offer other war art.
• the merchant only sells goods from the Viking Age and can link the presentation to the goods.
• that everyone participates in the common tasks around cooking, feasting, etc. There are plenty of tasks to take care of, so you can sign up for the help team every day and things will go smoothly and there will be plenty of time for fun and fellowship.
• We expect everyone to participate in Tinget. You can participate either in the event itself or as an active audience member.
• NOTE: If you want to bring animals, please let us know in the form. Animals are welcome as long as the owners have full control over them – this is in relation to interaction with the audience and safety for you and the guests of Lejre Land of Legends.

Practical info:

You must provide your own breakfast and dinner. As always, we will provide a refrigerator and a fully equipped guest kitchen for you. Lejre Land of Legends will provide tea and coffee and a meal at noon Monday to Friday and a festive dinner on Friday evening, which we will prepare together.
