January 2020<\/time><\/div>\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">About the World of the Legendary Kings project<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>On June 21, 2015, Lejre Land of Legends announced the news of the first donation to the World of the Legendary Kings project. 65 million donated by A. P. M\u00f8ller og Hustru Chastine Mc-Kinney M\u00f8llers Fond til almene Formaal. Since then, a further 10 million has been added, donated by the Augustinus Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This was the starting point for the ambitious project to bring the Viking Age to life in the Lejre region. The reconstruction of Denmark&#8217;s largest Viking hall is underway, and at the construction site you can already experience how the craftsmanship of the Vikings meets the skills of modern times during the building process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<p><strong>60 meters long, 12 meters wide, 10 meters to the ceiling and over 600m2 under roof. The largest hall from the Danish Viking Age and a magnificent testimony to the culmination of Nordic architecture and craftsmanship. A striking symbol that the legends of Lejre&#8217;s mighty shield cub kings have a historical core.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/sagnlandet.dk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/skaermbillede-2016-09-02-kl-133901-e1472819023685-500x306-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1492 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A fantastic communication project<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The World of the Legendary Kings focuses on Lejre&#8217;s unique Nordic cultural heritage in genres as diverse as architecture, mythology, literature and landscape. In addition to the royal hall, the project includes other elements from the royal environment of the time, including the Shepherd&#8217;s House, which is designed for school camps and accommodation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Through its interdisciplinary and innovative approach and new forms of communication, the project supports the new school reform and ensures top-quality knowledge dissemination. Children, young people and families will not only learn about history, but also about everyday life through practical activities and thought-provoking challenges.
