The stinging nettle can do much more than simply irritate the skin and be added to pancakes. It is even known as \u2018the silk of the North\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since the Stone Age, it has been used as a textile fibre and shares many similarities with flax and hemp fibres in terms of both quality and properties.
Come down to the costume workshop and have a go at transforming nettles from a stinging plant into soft fibre, together with our textile experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It takes a fair bit of patience, but with a little help from an adult, it\u2019ll all work out fine. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
